Fronda ("we", "us") is a gardening app that helps you grow and care for plants. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep it simple because we collect only what the app needs to work.
Information we collect
- Account: name, email, and password (stored encrypted). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from them.
- Your garden data: plants, gardens, reminders, care logs, notes, and photos you add.
- Photos you submit for plant identification or diagnosis (processed to return a result, then associated with your account).
- Approximate location (only if you allow it) to tailor watering advice and weather-aware reminders.
- Device push token to send you notifications.
- Basic usage/diagnostic data to keep the service reliable.
How we use it
- To provide the core features: your garden, reminders, plant identification, expert answers, store orders, and community.
- To send notifications you opt into (reminders and daily tips).
- To improve reliability and prevent abuse.
AI features
Some features (plant identification, the plant expert, suggestions) send your question or photo to trusted AI processing providers to generate a response. We do not sell this content, and it is not used to identify you personally.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers who help us run the app (hosting, notifications, AI processing) under confidentiality obligations, or when required by law. Content you post to the community (posts, comments) is visible to other users.
Data retention & your rights
- You can edit or delete your gardens, plants, and photos in the app at any time.
- You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete account, or by emailing us.
- You can request a copy of your data by contacting us.
Children
Fronda is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Security
Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and access to data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
